Callus planer for callus removal

Correct use of callus planes and purchase recommendations

What are callus planes used for?

Callus planes are used to remove calluses on the feet. Simply place the blade on the callus plane and you can begin working right away. For health reasons, it's important to replace the blade regularly to prevent injuries and maintain hygiene. Callus planes should also be nickel-free and made of stainless steel if you have a nickel allergy.

Correct use/instructions for a callus planer

Step 1: Carefully place the blade into the slider, holding it by the blunt edges (Fig. 1).

Step 2: Insert the handle of the plane into the slider (Fig. 2).

Step 3: To remove calluses, only pull the plane lengthwise toward the handle. Never use it crosswise! (Fig. 3) Risk of injury!

Step 4: For a final smoothing of the heels, use the rasp clip. To do this, carefully remove the slider with the blade. Then attach the rasp clip (Fig. 4). Using back-and-forth movements, gently smooth the heel.

Step 5: Clean under running water and place on a cloth to dry.

Why is a callus planer better than a callus rasp or electric callus remover?

Unlike callus rasps or callus files, the CREDO callus plane offers the ability to remove even heavily thickened calluses with a precise cut. This is the most effective method of callus removal. Specially ground, high-quality blades guarantee a consistent cut quality. Each CREDO callus plane, including its blade, clip, and holder, is hand-adjusted by experts to ensure a consistent cut of 0.5–0.55 mm. Easy to use, precise results – that's CREDO callus planes.
